CNSD-2016 Call for Papers

The tenth Conference on Nonlinear Systems and Dynamics (CNSD-2016) will be held from 16th to 18th December, 2016 (from Friday to Sunday) at Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Kolkata.

The conference will cover all topics in nonlinear systems and dynamics. It will consist of the following components.

  1. Plenary talks
  2. Mini-symposiums
  3. Oral presentations
  4. Interactive sessions (poster presentations and demonstration of experiments and computer programs).

Plenary speakers:

  • Prof. Rajarshi Roy, University of Maryland, College Park, USA
  • Prof. Leon Glass, McGill University, Canada
  • Prof. Tetsuro Endo, Meiji University, Japan
  • Prof. Ram Ramaswamy, Jawaharlal Nehru University, India
  • Prof. Arnd Backer, Technical University Dresden, Germany

Technical program schedule:

The schedule of the plenary talks, mini-symposiums, oral sessions and interactive sessions can be found here

The Proceedings of the Conference, comprising the abstracts of the presentations, has been published online. Abstracts are included in the Proceedings only if the paper has been physically presented in the Conference.

Instructions to the presenters:

Oral session presenters: Please prepare your presentation material in a system-independent format (pdf preferred, ppt is acceptable) and bring in an USB-stick. We would like to avoid the interfacing problems that often happen when the computer connected to the projector is changed. Get in touch with the volunteer in charge of the hall, and load the presentation material BEFORE the start of the session.

Interactive session presenters: These sessions are meant to be "interactive", not just poster sessions. Please prepare the poster in landscape format (poster board size: 4ft x 3ft). The font size should be such that it can be read from a distance. If a viewer wants to see more detail of the work than can be put in the poster, you will have to show it on a laptop computer. Please bring a laptop computer that can run on battery for at least two hours. Those who are reporting experiments should bring videos of the experiments, and those who are presenting simulation results or software should be able to demonstrate these on-spot.

Transportation information:

IISER Kolkata is located about 60 km from Kolkata. "How to reach" information can be found here.

We will try to facilitate transportation as far as possible. If you are reaching the Howrah or Shalimar station by train, take a bus or taxi to the Sealdah station. From there take a local train going towards Kalyani Simanta, Ranaghat, Gede, Shantipur or Krishnanagar. Get down at the Kalyani station (about 1 hr 20 mins from Sealdah). If you have informed us the approximate time of arrival at the Kalyani station, we will pick up from there. In case of any difficulty (e.g., train delays), get in touch with Soumyajit Seth, ph. 08902129055.

We'll arrange pickup from the Kolkata airport in batches, if you have informed us your flight number and time of arrival. In case of any problem (e.g., flight delays), please get in touch with Debapriya Pal, Ph. 07432990747.
